We put it off as long as we could. After all, writing takes a lot of time and concentration and you do it all by yourself. Unfortunately for us, the success of The Shows and our Keynote Speaking led to participants and those who just heard about us to keep asking why we didn’t write a book. And then there were those people calling up to hire us who started off by saying “do you have a book?” So we wrote a book, and the result is…Conversation on Networking, The Book, just brimming with stories, exercises, illustrations, tips, and random interesting ideas.
So we release The Book and wouldn’t you know…yup, you guessed it…avid readers enjoyed it so much they wanted more on a regular basis. Thus, The Newsletter was born and continues the saga of networking, adding a chapter a month. It too is filled with stories, tips, exercises, and adding random musings for improving your networking skills. And not only that, we share great stories of success…and sometimes failure…that loyal readers send in.
Then, to our amazement, our dedicated readers began telling us The Newsletter wasn’t enough (as though we weren’t already spending enough time writing away), and it would be so nice to have a few short stories and networking tips each and every week. Being the dedicated, responsive networkers, connectors, and, yes, amazingly good consultants we are, we responded. And so was born Steve’s Blog. Several times a week you can read about Steve’s ongoing experiences in the world of networking, the strange and counterproductive things people do (of course, the good things too), and Steve’s comments, tips and ideas. And best of all…you get to participate immediately by adding your very own comments.
Who knows what’s next…a new, more distinctive website (oh, that’s right, you’re here), new and expanded versions of The Show, another book…or two, perhaps even some more of that social media stuff. Stay tuned.
